I am one of these people that does not connect easily with most people that I have encountered in my life. I find Patrick very much a father figure in some way, I never knew him, but I feel a connection with this amazing person that is no longer with us. In the last few years since your death, Patrick the world really has become a much worse place, there has been a major increase in terrorism, which was never this bad, you would be turning in your grave if you knew the extent of the mess the EU has done to Europe with it's ridiculous open door policy, and movement of free travel.

I knew you were anti EU and the damage they were doing by destroying our sovereignty, and British way of life, well we voted to leave the EU, and hopefully we can eventually repair the damage caused. I will vote UKip on the next general election, as I'm sure you supported them too. The world really is a much sadder place since your passing, and we are slowly losing all the greats, one of the few remaining greats is David Attenborough.

My passion for astronomy would probably never have taken off without your influence, like many other people you influenced. I will always remember you Patrick and you will never be forgotten, I just wish there was some memorial that I could pay my respects towards, or find other like minded people that appreciated and valued you the same way.

From: Simon Hallak Country: UK My tribute to Patrick Moore is over four years late, it did not occur to me until just recently what a great loss it feels to have lost Patrick for good. I can recall being a teenager and having an avid interest in astronomy, and I can also recall watching the sky at night over 20 years ago, I am pretty sure Patrick's sky at night programme did influence my keen interest in astronomy. I remember hearing about Patrick's death in , but it did not really seem to bother me that much until recently. I have realised what an incredibly gifted and amazing person he was - he was highly intelligent, eccentric, a national treasure, and by all accounts from what I've heard a very kind, and humble man who had that special ability to get on with people of all ages and backgrounds.

It saddens me that all these years prior to his death I had never attempted to contact him, I would have been thrilled at the chance to have met him, but sadly I did not realise how special this man was until after his death. There will never be another Patrick, he was a one off, and I'm so glad he was here during my life. I will always remember you Patrick, everytime I look up at the sky and remember you, but sadly the brightest shining star in the sky has faded for good.

From: Johnf Country: puyeutei Good post. I study something more challenging on completely different blogs everyday. It is going to all the time be stimulating to learn content material from different writers and practice somewhat one thing from their store. I bdceedeekbag. From: Anthony Ruffell Country: Wales UK I remember a sky at night were Patrick visited telescopes all over the world it would be good to get to see again. When my dad was aroundhe told me he gave help in moving Patrick Moore into farthings back in the middle to late 60s.

I still record and watch sky at night and still have a passion for anything to do with science and astronomy thanks to Patrick Moore and sky at night.

SPOTLIGHT!! Blood of the Fallen by Dakota Rebel

From: John Country: Dorset Four years since we lost the great man. Never forgotten, Patrick, still missed by us all. From: G. Wight Country: Scotland, U. Well its been almost 4 yrs since beloved Patrick graced this earth. These 3 discovered more than "our Pat" but none of them were ever as accessible. Many times I watched the heavens with you. I hope you watch them still. The meal will begin at 6. We continue to celebrate Patrick's kindness to generations of beginners in astronomy with the annual toast: "We remember here Sir Patrick Moore, astronomer and friend of this school.

His gifts of hospitality, friendship and generosity graced his age; and our best tribute to him is to mirror his virtues and emulate his enthusiasm as we look up to the Heavens and smile: To Patrick! Wherever you have gone keep at it! You are sadly missed here.

A Dallas Guide to Men’s Grooming

I think the creator just took random dialogues from anime in the right tone and then insert it into the video to make it sound as if Katniss and other character are really speaking accordingly to the subtitles in the video. This is a pretty cool video though. Now in Newmarket, Canada. For some reasons I haven't paid close attention to Mr.

Moore, this great person had past in almost three years. Seriously, my tears have filled in my eyes since I realized that. I don't know what to say, but the deepest regret in my heart causes my feeling. In , when I was 10 years old, one of my cousins gave me a book about astronomy. This book is "Bang! The Complete History of the Universe"translated in Chinese. My cousin at that time was 26, he knows that I am interested in the universe. He told me that after he read this book, he thought it is really a good one to improve my knowledge.

So I started reading this fantastic book. Although I read the book as a year-old kid at that time, but I could understand almost everything the book have mentioned. That is why I was so fascinated with the book and I was looking forward that I can have an opportunity to meet Mr. Moore, Mr.

May and Mr. Lintott to discuss the cosmology. It really becomes one of my dreams since that. Years later when I read this book again and introduce it to others, I always recollect that dream again and again.

Even after he past although I don't know at that time I have still doing that. In the beginning of , I had a chance to visit Britain with my middle school. I have been visited about 20 cities to meet those famous cosmologists, astronomers and physicists. But unfortunately I haven't gotten the news from Mr. Back to today, I am working on my essay and looking for sources. Bad news is, Mr. Moore had past 3 years ago; "Good news" is, finally I can share my story and send my tributes to this great person.

As a young boy I wrote to him on a number of occasions, and he never failed to reply. As inevitable as these things are, it is still sad, and the world is slightly less sparkly without Patrick Moore. From: Michael Stephen Country: UK Patrick's generosity, kindness, encouragement and support of young astronomers were legendary. My own experience of this was when, aged 11 and armed with his 'Observer's Book of Astronomy', I wrote to Patrick asking where I could find information about what might be observable and when. He replied on his ancient typewriter, of course , enclosing a complimentary copy of the then-current ' Yearbook of Astronomy', which he had signed along with a message of good wishes.

I still have the letter and the book, which is in a well-used condition. Much later, when on a visit to California in with my wife, we made our way to the Mt Palomar Observatory where, in the small visitor's room, we found a black-and-white TV screen showing a video loop describing the telescope and its history.

The presenter was Patrick! What a wonderful recognition of his standing as an astronomer, his great talent as a presenter and his popularity generally. Patrick was a great man and a great communicator. We shall not see his like again. I remember meeting him in Christchurch, New Zealand, at an astronomy society function in the early s.
